HANNITY| Attorney General Jeff Sessions is prepared to announce the Department of Justice’s major crackdown on government leakers in the coming days; the latest signal that the Trump administration is pushing the reset button as John Kelly takes control as Chief of Staff.
According to Fox News, the four-star general will make plugging leakers, both inside and outside the Trump administration, his initial priority after taking the reins of the White House.
“If Reince [Priebus] couldn’t control those leaks … then he was the one who was ultimately responsible, and General Kelly was brought in to make sure those leaks do not continue,” said former Trump campaign manager Corey.
White House insiders say the Attorney General plans to launch major criminal investigations of leaks coming from Trump’s inner circle, as well as intelligence agencies such as the FBI.
A recent report by the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee, titled “State Secrets: How an Avalance of Media Leaks is Harming National Security,” raised alarm bells over the staggering amount of leaks plaguing the Trump administration.
The President has routinely called on Sessions to crackdown on the leaks, saying he wanted “the Attorney General to be much tougher.”
Attorney General Sessions will announce the new crackdown as early as Friday.
